ReferenceWorks font size on windows computers.
Problem:
If you notice that your ReferenceWorks opens with no book titles and that you are unable to type in the "Untitled" window, the problem is the font point size.
Fix:
1. Quit ReferenceWorks.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Re-open ReferenceWorks.
If that does not solve the problem, please...
1. Quit ReferenceWorks
2. Right click the desktop and select "Properties"
3. Select the "Settings" tab
4. Click "Advance" at the bottom of the window
5. Select the "General" tab
6. Change "small" fonts to "large" fonts*
* For Windows XP users after going to the General Tab you must change the DPI size from 96 to 120 (there is no small or large font to change)
Toshiba Satelite Computers and Sentinal keys (Mostly Parallel).
Problem:
After installing MacRepertory and or ReferenceWorks a message appears asking you to "please connect the key" as if the computer thinks there is no key attached.
Reason:
Toshiba, in certain models, have set their BIOS so it will not read peripherals attached to computers that required drivers to be installed.
Fix:
1. Download the BIOS patch (12400v14.exe). Find this by going to www.ts.toshiba.com then select you Product, family and modle and click GO.
2. Download the BIOS patch.
3. Double click on it.
4. Unzip it.
5. Insert a blank floppy disc. Ensure it is formatted (open May Computer/right click Floppy Dick/clickformat)
6. Take floppy disc to computer (if MR is on another compuer), insert floppy in drive.
8. Shutdown computer.
9. Restart computer. Diskett should boot.
10. A message will appear sayng Starting Windows 95/98 etc; Reading & rewriting BIOS"
11. Once finished, shut down computer. Remove Floppy. Restart computer.
