MACREP TRICKS A subtle but sometimes profound shift in your relationship with a program can come about when you customize it to look a way you feel comfortable with. There are many hidden tricks that you can use to make MacRepertory fit as well as your favorite clothes... All Windows: hold down the command (mac) or control (pc) key as you click in the window's background. Especially setting the backgrounds that are normally white to light pastels can be very pretty indeed. In some of the windows, like the Rubrics' Clipboard you have to click at the very left edge of the background. Don't like the change? To revert back to the defaults hold down option/command (mac) or alt/control (pc) as you click in the back ground. Or if you make a total hash of it all simply throw out the "MacRepertory 6 Settings" file and it will be rebuilt as good as new. Repertory Window (icon view): the background, shading, etc for the icons can be set. Holding down shift/command (mac) or shift/control (pc) click on the background.
Repertory Window (open): There has several areas that can be changed.
Rubrics' Clipboards: Here, and in the repertory, you can alter how the rubrics look. With the window open go to the Edit menu and change the font or size or color. One font I sometimes use is Arial Black; there is a nice contrast between the remedies and the rubric. You can change the color of each different remedy grade; go to the File menu, Preferences. Select Grade Color.
Click in each color's square to set the color.
Icon Palette: Using MacRepertory and ReferenceWorks together is far easier if you have the two icon palettes in different areas of the screen. To move the Icon Palette hold down the option key as you drag it. (Mac).
