More news on the California health freedom bill, SB577.

SB577 became effective on January 1, 2003. After years of hard work and a huge financial output by the California Health Freedom Coalition, homeo-paths in California are able to take another great step forward towards the more ligitimate practice of homeopathy with clear definitions and distinct standards.

Now that the bill has passed, homeopaths are required to provide a written disclosure statement for all of their patients. A signed copy of this statement must be kept on file for at least 3 years and a copy must also be given to the patient.

The practitioner's disclosure must meet at least the following requirements:

A) That he/she is not a licensed physician

B) That the treatment is alternative/complimentary to healing arts services licensed by the state

C) That the services to be provided are not licensed by the state

D) Explain the nature of the services to be provided

E) Explain the theory of treatment upon which the services are based

F) Describe his/her education, training, experience or other qualifications regarding the services to be provided
