Using MacRepertory and ReferenceWorks with out the Copy Protection Device attached.
A.K.A., going Keyless.
Please read *NB before you begin
MacRepertory
1. After installing the applications open MacRepertory
2. In MacRepertory go to Option menu/preferences. (version 5.7) or File menu/ Preferences (version 6.0)
3. Click on "Use this computer only" and click OK
4. Shut down MacRepertory and remove the CPD (key)
5. Restart MacRepertory and it should open without the key.
ReferenceWorks
1. Install ReferenceWorks
2. Go to File menu/Preferences
3. Click on "Use this computer only and click OK
4. Shut down ReferenceWorks and remove the CPD (key)
5. Restart ReferenceWorks and it should open without the key
*NB. If you have both MacRepertory & ReferenceWorks please set the Softkey in MacRepertory first. Ensure ONLY MacRepertory is open. Do NOT have ReferenceWorks open ∑ Also please note that the CPD (key) will be locked to that computer and will NOT be able to be used on another computer unless it is unlocked from the present one by reversing the steps. ∑ Also please note that you must look after the key once you have locked the computer. If you lose the key there will be a charge to unlock the computer and receive a new key ∑ ****Very important note. The key is now locked to a serial number of your hard drive. If for any reason you are getting the computer serviced, going to reformat the drive or even load a KHA upgrade you must UNLOCK the key first.
How to UNLOCK/Disable Keyless feature.
1. Please open your program. If you have both please ONLY open MacRepertory
2. Attach the key.
3. Go to File Menu (version 6.0 and higher) or Option Menu (version 5.7). Select Preferences. Click "Use Copy Protection Device only".
4. Click OK.
