After installing your new MR 8 & RW 4 you may have noticed that your program folders are not in the usual places. Microsoft prefers installation to place files in support folders and document folders. Here are the locations of you new program files and folders.

You can also view information on the programs under the HELP menu in MacRepertory or ReferenceWorks.

Also on your desktop have been placed pdf files called MR8 new features and RW 4 new features.

Windows XP:  (>> Vista)

NB:  Some files and folders are hidden from view by design so that you do accidentally delete or edit them.  Application Data is one such folder.  In order to reveal it you must first go to the "Tools" menu and select "Flolder Options".  

I have found it easier to go to My computer, C: Drive, Documents and Settings, my user name, etc rather than going directly to My Documents.  The reason for this is that there is a folder named after the username, and Application Data folder is hidden under that folder, so you need to show hidden files and folders there.

The select show hidden files and folders.

Program applications:

ReferenceWorks.exe- Location: C:\ReferenceWorks Library

Books and Libraries:

MacRepertory books (Repertories and Keynote folder):

                  Location: C:\Documents and Settings\User name\My Documents\MacRepertory

             (Cases folder will also be created or moved here)

ReferenceWorks books (now called indexes):

      Location: C:\ReferenceWorks Library\ReferenceWorks Files\Indexes

Support Files:

Concepts (MR pro only):

          Location: C:\Documents and Settings\User name\*Application Data\MacRepertory

Manuals & Movies and family Graphs: (click on Programs Help Menu to watch movies, manuals)

Show Hidden files and folders. (On Vista you may not see the Tools menu. Instead click on ORGANIZE, then Menu, then Layout to see the tools menu)

1. Open My Computer.
2. Go to Tools menu/Folder options
3. Click View tab
4. Scroll down in window and click "Show hidden files and folders".
5. Click OK
